Fermilab

Solving the mysteries of matter, energy, space and time

The Fermilab logo, featuring a stylized icon and the word "Fermilab," is displayed against a dark, textured background of golden-yellow squares.

About the project

Since 1967, Fermilab has worked to answer fundamental questions about the universe and enhance our understanding of everything we see around us. As the United States’ premier particle physics laboratory, Fermilab has worked on the world’s most advanced particle accelerators and dug down to the smallest building blocks of matter. Fermilab is also at the forefront of quantum technology and is one of five research centers funded by the U.S. Department of Energy as part of a national initiative to develop and deploy the world’s most powerful quantum computers and sensors.

The Fermilab website was established in June 1992. Fermilab partnered with HDMZ in 2019 to elevate the design of their digital properties including the new launch of new websites for the laboratory’s flagship experiments such LBNF-DUNE, SQMS, and more. HDMZ designed and developed a custom WordPress theme that has been deployed in various experiment websites and numerous internal sites.
