WHY DOES GSC LOOK DIFFERENT?
In case you missed it, Google Search Console (GSC) has a makeover, with a new contemporary design and some technical updates as well. The new GSC Beta functionalities include search performance, index coverage, AMP status, job posting reports, and more.
WHAT’S NEW?
Search Performance: The updated Search Analytics section is known as Search Performance. The new tools allow you to search with multiple filters such as country, device and date. It also allows for a longer date range: 16-months of data as opposed to the previous 3-month limit.
Index Coverage: The index coverage tab can help users better understand indexed and non-indexed pages. It shows correct URLs, potential issues and reasons why Google won’t index certain pages.
- Search Enhancements: This feature now allows you to view performance of the website, images, and videos all separately in order to help you understand what is driving traffic. It also assists in SEO as it checks which keywords receive the most impressions and clicks.
