On March 26, 2018, Google announced that it is continuing to roll out its mobile-first indexing program, with more broad of a reach than ever.
Today we’re announcing that after a year and a half of careful experimentation and testing, we’ve started migrating sites that follow the best practices for mobile-first indexing.
This is consistent with their announcement in November 2017, when John Mueller announced the mobile-first indexing had initiated with a small number of sites, but would continue to expand.
Last month’s announcement specifically mentioned the high confidence level in the success of the program thus far, and to let webmasters know that they would receive an email notification once their domain was being indexed under the new “mobile-first” algorithm.
